These posts respond directly to national guidance for Phase 2 implementation and build on Humberside’s existing Domestic Abuse Coordination Team and Rapid Video Response (RVR) model. The roles are designed to strengthen policing responses to domestic abuse while maintaining clear independence from police decision making.

The Raneem’s Law Specialist will work alongside police officers and staff in the Force Control Room to improve the police response to domestic abuse. The role is primarily desk-based and focused on:

 Improving victim engagement at first point of contact
 Strengthening identification and assessment of risk
 Supporting effective use of Rapid Video Response (RVR)
 Embedding trauma informed, survivor centred practice
 Ensuring strong, timely links to specialist support services, including The Blue Door IDVA services

The role is supportive, advisory and challenging where needed. It does not replace police responsibilities, involve decision making, or include case holding.
