Young Person's Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA)

The Blue Door is looking for a Young Person's ISVA based within Hull and East Riding. Do you want to make a difference every day? Do you want to support change & improvement for those who need it? Can you work effectively with a focus on client service and care?
About the role
As the ISVA your primary role will be to provide a pro-active service to Young People (13-19) who are victims of Sexual Violence and Abuse, including child sexual exploitation, to keep them safe. Ensure the provision of support and advocacy services to all clients who are experiencing sexual abuse.
ISVAs work with survivors and other agencies and monitor the care pathway ensuring link a between the criminal justice system, statutory safeguarding and child protection processes and the victim and their families acting as an independent advocate throughout.
To provide a high-quality frontline service to victims of sexual abuse.
To provide a pro-active service to victims of Sexual Violence and Abuse to keep them safe. The work is distinct in that it assesses the risk a client is in and delivers a service appropriate to the level of risk, offering a premium service to those at high risk.
You will co-ordinate a multi-agency response that aims to reduce and manage the risk identified.
The work relies on the voluntary engagement of the client and therefore you will need to be confident in your abilities to build professional relationships with them, based on trust in order to successfully support them.
You will have proven experience of working with individuals, and a successful track record of working effectively with a range of external organisations and professionals.
You will lead by example, positively improving professional responses and creating a culture of communication and engagement. You will maintain high professional standards at all times, whilst ensuring measurable positive outcomes are achieved for the client group
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
You will be required to have experience of working with local communities, statutory and voluntary sector organisations and an understanding of how agencies work to protect victims of violence and abuse.
You will have great understanding of relevant legislation, policy and procedure relating to sexual violence and abuse.
You will have a great understanding of the complexities and dynamics of sexual abuse
Experience of working with young individuals and be able to motivate individuals and agencies to move through courses of action and decision making processes
Experience of providing emotional and practical support to people seeking support/advice
An understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues
You will be proficient in data management and the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
Excellent time management and organisational skills including the ability to meet tight deadlines.

MARAC Coordinator

We’re looking for a positive and dedicated domestic violence and abuse Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) Coordinator to support our vital work within the North East Lincolnshire MARAC. If you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference to the lives of some of our most vulnerable residents, then this could be the role for you.
You will be responsible for ensuring that safeguarding and risk issues are identified and effectively managed through the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) in North East Lincolnshire. This panel brings together multiple agencies to identify risk and works to protect the victims of the most serious domestic violence and abuse.
About the role
As the MARAC Coordinator your primary role will be to provide coordination for North East Lincolnshire MARAC, to ensure the MARAC and agencies attending adhere to the local MARAC Operating Protocol (MOP), to raise awareness of the MARAC to non-attending agencies, to deliver training to statutory and voluntary partners.
You will be the lead on incoming MARAC referral process providing support, coordinating agency referrals sent into MARAC process. You will administer MARAC panel by receiving referrals and risk assessments, setting the agenda, completing minutes and actions, and ensuring that partner agencies complete their actions.
You will have a key role to play in analysing the data that comes out of the panel, to identify where there are gaps in referrals and to ensure that agencies are working with all victims, including those from minority or hard to reach groups. This will include preparing performance reports on the MARAC for partnership meetings. As the MARAC expert, you will develop and deliver training sessions to partner agencies to raise awareness of the MARAC process.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
You will be required to have experience of working with local communities, statutory and voluntary sector organisations and an understanding of how agencies work to protect victims of violence and abuse. This role does not work directly with victims of violence and abuse but plays a key role in coordinating the work of partners to protect victims.
You will have great understanding of relevant legislation, policy and procedure relating to domestic violence and abuse.
You will have a great understanding of MARAC operating and information sharing protocols and their possible applications, as well as experience and knowledge of the MARAC process.
Experience of performance reporting and training delivery
Experience of working with and negotiating and influencing the police and other statutory and voluntary partners at a strategic and operational level
You will be proficient in data management and the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
Excellent time management and organisational skills including the ability to meet tight deadlines.
